FDNY searches for cause of Ozone Park fire

OZONE PARK — A two−alarm fire damaged two homes but injured no one Monday morning, the FDNY said.

The blaze began around 10:30 a.m. on the roof of a house at 117−07 103rd Ave. and spread to the cockloft of the dwelling, FDNY Deputy Chief James DiDomenico said. The flames spread to the roof of the next house, according to the fire department.

Firefighters arrived on the scene promptly and had the blaze put out within an hour, according to DiDomenico.

The Fire Department was investigating the exact cause of the incident, but the deputy chief said a rood repair work on one of the houses may have lead to the start of the fire.
