Broadway artist Nora Cole will perform in a show entitled “Voices of the Spirits in My Soul” at 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 21 at the York College Performing Arts Center.
The show, which is Cole’s second solo one, is based on family photographs and letters.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.

P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center will hold its spring opening celebration from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 22.
Among other artists, Kenneth Anger and Jonathan Horowitz will be featured in spring shows.

Sculpture and Painting Exhibition

An exhibition of “a rarely seen collection of Komaland terra cotta African sculptures and Congolese Pygmy bark paintings” will be on display at LaGuardia Community College through March 31.
The exhibition is being held in celebration of Black History Month. It includes “60 small figurines from the Koma culture of Northern Ghana.” They are from the personal collection of Sarah Lawrence University Art History Professor Emeritus Philip Gould.
It can be viewed at the college’s Joseph Shenker Hall on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
