Homicide
On Friday March 6, on Borden Avenue at 11th Street, a gold 2000 Honda Odyssey minivan traveling westbound toward the Midtown Tunnel flagged down a Triborough Bridge and Tunnel police officer and advised him that they had a man in their vehicle who had been shot numerous times in the head and torso. Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead.
Police say that further investigation determined that the two other occupants in the van, a 37- and a 24-year-old man, had been parked in the vicinity of Meeker-Morgan Avenue, when an nondescript man shot the victim then fled. The duo drove from that location in search of a hospital, but pulled over at the tunnel entrance when they saw the police officer. The identity of the victim is pending proper family notification.
