Fred Stewart
Fred Stewart of Roslyn Heights passed away after battling cancer on February 28, one day after his 63rd birthday.
Stewart, who served as Parkway Hospital’s Vice President of Marketing and New Business Development, was “very optimistic, very upbeat, a very positive man, always with a smile on his face,” according to his wife of 34 years, Pat.
“He kept everyone else going,” she said, noting that he worked up until three weeks before his death.
A very involved father to two sons, Jordan and Ian, Stewart enjoyed fishing, skiing and travel with his family.
He met his wife at an engagement party – he was the best man, she the maid of honor.
“He was a wonderful family man and friend,” she recalled.
She said that he loved learning new things and had a very inquisitive nature.
“He threw himself into anything he was into. He could talk to anybody about anything, and he was kind. He treated everyone with dignity and respect.”
With a strong background in marketing and advertising, said Pat, he was very creative and “quite a brilliant man with a great sense of humor and a passion for life.”
Stewart is survived by his wife, two sons, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Interment was at New Montefiore Cemetery.
The family has said that donations may be made in Stewart’s name to the Hospice Care Network, 99 Sunnyside Boulevard Woodbury, NY 11797
