It looks as if taxes are going to be raised in the city. What else is new? Mayor Michael Bloomberg wants people to live and work in this city, but who will be able to afford to if taxes continue to be raised?
This is causing the city’s citizens to have more stress, which in turn causes more unwanted health problems. It is time for the city, state and federal governments to trim the unnecessary monetary fat from their budgets.
Politicians do not deserve outlandish salaries and perks. Let them work on the salaries lower− and middle−class New Yorkers struggle to earn. Then maybe they will realize they had better start truly and honestly representing the working American.
