J train passenger slashed by Bklyn man: Brown

WOODHAVEN — A Brooklyn man was arraigned on assault charges last week after allegedly slashing a passenger in the face with a knife on the J subway line and fracturing a police officer’s hand after his arrest, authorities said.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Queens district attorney’s office, 26-year-old Brooklyn resident Emanuel Rivera allegedly told a passenger on the train, “I’m going to kill you,” removed a knife from his pocket and slashed him in the face shortly before 8 p.m. June 7.

The passenger suffered a cut that required stitches, according to the complaint.

Rivera was quickly apprehended, the complaint said, but while he was being brought to the 102nd Precinct in Ozone Park, he allegedly kicked a police officer, causing him to fall and fracture his hand.

Rivera was arraigned June 8 on charges of assaulting a uniformed officer and assault and was ordered held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
