Beginning in July, Advanced Hearing Center, which has an office in North Shore Towers, will conduct optimization workshops on the first and third Tuesday of every month through October.
The audiologists and co-owners of Advanced Hearing Center, Dr. Amy Sapodin and Dr. Alison Hoffmann, said that understanding a person’s hearing aid and all of its capabilities will “help you hear optimally.”
“Calibrating and programming hearing aids to meet your specific needs is critical to hearing well,” the doctors said.
The optimization workshops will cover several topics. They include maximizing the success of a hearing aid, enhancing the ability to hear in different environments, caring and maintaining a hearing aid, and troubleshooting a hearing aid in an emergency.
Along with giving information to individuals with hearing aids, the workshops will also be informative to family members and friends. They will learn about “important communication strategies so they can better understand how you listen and hear with hearing devices. These techniques will help everyone cope more easily with hearing difficulties.”
The first workshop will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 7, and the second one will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 21.
All workshops will be held at the Advanced Hearing Center’s Albertson office, which is located at 1163 Willis Avenue.
