FLUSHING — A Flushing woman pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after she almost hit a traffic enforcement agent with her car and threw a sandwich at the agent, a spokeswoman for the Queens district attorney’s office said Monday.
Jacqueline Ramos, of 132-35 Sanford Ave. in Flushing, was eating the sandwich and had her car stopped in a “No Stopping” area near 131-62 Avery Ave. between 10:55 a.m. and 11:05 a.m. July 9, the criminal complaint said.
As the traffic agent was trying scan the information of Ramos’ car, Ramos backed up and then moved forward, causing the agent to jump back to avoid getting struck by the vehicle before Ramos drove away, the complaint said.
Moments after the incident, Ramos allegedly confronted the agent as the agent was sitting in her marked traffic enforcement vehicle, the complaint said.
Ramos yelled at the agent and demanded to speak to a supervisor when the agent asked her to step back because Ramos was spitting at her, the complaint said.
Ramos then told the agent, “Take this,” and threw her sandwich at the agent, which struck the agent in the right arm, the complaint said.
Ramos was arraigned July 9 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Robert Racito, where she pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, the spokeswoman said.
Ramos faces 15 days in jail or a $250 fine after pleading guilty, the spokeswoman said.
