The National Council of Jewish Women, Lakeville Section, celebrated its 60th anniversary on June 22 with a gala luncheon, which was given at Temple Emanuel with an installation of officers and a tribute of a large donation to each of the community services they support.

Our Seasoned Singles, which is open only to our members and friends, continues with a docent-led tour of Harlem on August 2. We will be having lunch at Sylvia’s famous restaurant at 3 p.m. Call Ruth Kaplan at 718-343-2029 or Dorothy Filler at 718-347-0742 to make reservations. The cost for members is $45 and is $50 for friends. The bus will leave the Waldbaum’s parking lot at 260th Street and Union Turnpike at 10 a.m. and, for North Shore Towers residents, will leave from Building Two at the Towers at 10:15 a.m. We are limited to one bus so make your reservations early.
On August 10, Café Rustica, located at 200 Middleneck Road, will extend the privilege to us to dine with them from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Their early bird dinner is very reasonable and they donate 10 percent of your bill to NCJW. Call 516-829-6464 for a reservation and mention NCJW.
