OZONE PARK — A 39-year-old Ozone Park man was arrested after he allegedly broke into a store on 109th Avenue and stole a cash register, the Queens district attorney said.
Anthony Johnson, of 104-32 94th Ave. in Ozone Park, was arraigned Oct. 8 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Mary O’Donoghue on charges of burglary, criminal mischief and petit larceny, Queens DA Richard Brown said. The defendant, held on $150,000 bail, will return to court Thursday, the DA said.
On Sept. 15, the owner of a store on 109th Avenue noticed that his business’ front window had been smashed and the cash register had been removed, Brown said. A DNA swab was taken from a drop of blood on the store’s counter and it allegedly matched Johnson, the DA said.
Damage to the store exceeded $250, he said.
