Getting started in modeling and acting

Ever dream of seeing your child on TV or in a magazine, but just don’t know how to get started?

Since 1939, Barbizon Modeling & Acting of New York City has been training young girls and boys to become models and actors. Barbizon is an international company representing talent throughout the world. Their New York City flagship franchise is located in the center of Manhattan.

Several of Barbizon’s students have gone on to lead very successful careers, including show business stardom, while others have used their skills to fulfill their dreams in other areas. Some of this talent includes David Archuleta of “American Idol,” “Macy” of “The Jonas Show,” and “Rico” of “The Hannah Montana Show,” as well as models of “America’s Next Top Model.”

Barbizon conducts interviews with children starting at the age of six, but represents all age groups. They work with all different ethnicities, sizes and experience levels. Models have worked in runway, fashion, print, tradeshows and all types of other promotions.

“Our company helps students with modeling and acting skills, but also focuses on their overall personal improvement,” said Jay Goldstein, owner of Barbizon Modeling & Acting of New York City.

Barbizon also represents professionals who have finished the program or are already working professionals in the modeling and acting industry. Apart from their natural beauty and professional appearance, Barbizon models are experienced in all types of promotions. Many are bilingual and have formal training in dance and acting, but, most importantly, they know how to sell products with personality and persuasion.

Barbizon is currently conducting a child model and acting search. They will be evaluating girls between the ages of 6 and16 for their potential to train for modeling and acting. It will one day only on Sunday, October 11 by appointment. The interviews will be held at The New Yorker Hotel located at 8th Avenue and 34th Street (across from Penn Station). Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
