Who’s backing whom in ‘09?

Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been endorsed by The Jewish Press. They also endorsed Democratic Councilmember Bill de Blasio for Public Advocate; Democrat Councilmember John C. Liu for Comptroller; Democrat Helen Marshall for Queens Borough President; Democrat Mark Weprin for City Council District 23 and Democrat Karen Koslowitz for City Council District 29.

Former New York Governor George Pataki, former U.S. Senate Candidate Rick Lazio; City Council Minority Leader James Oddo of Staten Island, State Senator Marty Golden, former State Senator Serphin Maltese; former District 19 Councilmember Mike Abel and the NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association have endorsed Republican Dan Halloran for City Council District 19.

Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo; The Police Benevolent Association; Detectives Endowment Association, United Firefighters Association local 94, the Uniformed Fire Officers Association local 854, the United Federation of Teachers; the Council of School Supervisors & Administrators; NARAL Pro-Choice NY; the League of Conservation Voters and Planned Parenthood of NYC Action Fund have endorsed Democrat Kevin Kim for City Council District 19.

The “Our Flushing Political Coalition” and The Queens Tribune, have endorsed Republican Peter Koo for City Council District 20.

The Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club has endorsed Green Party Candidate Lynne Serpe for City Council District 22.

The Western Queens LGTB Democratic Club has endorsed Democrat Councilmember Peter Vallone Jr. for re-election in Council District 22.

State Senator Frank Padavan and The Corrections Captains Association have endorsed Republican candidate Bob Friedrich for City Council District 23.

City Councilmember Eric Gioia and former Bronx Borough President and mayoral candidate Fernando Ferrer have endorsed Democrat Jimmy Van Bramer for City Council District 26.

State Senator Marty Golden and the NYC Fire Marshals Benevolent Association have endorsed Republican Angelo Maragos for City Council Candidate District 26.

The Uniformed Fire Officers Association has endorsed Democrat Elizabeth Crowley for Council District 30.

Attorney General Anthony Cuomo and U.S. Senator Charles Schumer have endorsed Democrat Frank Gulluscio for City Council District 32.

The Wave and the Queens Tribune have endorsed Erich Ulrich for City Council District 32.
