Doo-Wop til you drop

Dance the night away at Harry G.’s Special Homecoming 17th annual “Doo Wop” Spectacular on Saturday January 30. This fund-raising event takes place in Beach Channel High School in Rockaway Park and starts at 7 p.m.
The concert will have many doo-wop groups join together on one stage and will benefit the Susan G. Memorial Scholarship Fund at Beach Channel.
The anniversary number (17) also dictates the number of acts being featured. Headlining are Cleveland Still and The Dubs (known for the song “Could this be Magic”), Norman Fox and The Rob-Roys (known for “Tell Me Why”), Vito and The Salutations (“Gloria”), Quotations (“Imagination”), Fireflies (“You were Mine”), Devotions (“Rip Van Wrinkle”), Manhattan Skyline featuring the lead vocals of Jimmy Russo and The Super Girls Group featuring original members of The Exciters, Cookies, Jaynetts, Raindrops and Del Rons.
Also performing are Joey and The Paradons, Lou Rotondo, N.Y.’s Cascades, Tony Ferari’s Chaperones (Tribute), Wrenditions, Four Pops, Twin Gold, Ideals and Clarions.
