QUEENS VILLAGE — A mentally handicapped man was missing and the police asked the public for help in locating him before he gets hurt.
Chester Scales, 35, a resident of Creedmore Psychiatric Hospital, was last seen at LIJ Medical Center Jan. 9 while he was getting treatment for a pre-existing medical condition, police said. Scales suffers from schizophrenia and diabetes, according to the police.
He is described as black, 6-feet-2-inches tall and approximately 185 pounds. Scales was last seen wearing a black and brown jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers, police said.
