Queens Pride dinner dance

Queens Pride, producer of the annual Lesbian and Gay Pride Parade and Festival, is having its annual “Winter Pride Dinner Dance” at the Astoria World Manor, 25-22 Astoria Boulevard on Saturday, January 23 from 7 p.m. to midnight.

The organization is honoring newly-elected City Councilmember and founder of Queens Pride, Daniel Dromm. In addition, it is honoring “The Imperial Court of New York” known for its many years of philanthropic contributions and community service to local organizations.

Dromm is an educator and community organizer committed to civil rights and social justice. He has established himself a fighter against prejudice, discrimination and violence. Seventeen years ago, he organized the first Queens LGBT Pride Parade and Festival.

The Imperial Court of New York is a social, fundraising organization that has raised and donated back into the community more than $1 million to both social service and health support organizations in the tri-state area and contributed countless volunteer hours. Among those charities selected are God’s Love We Deliver, Gilda’s Club and the Metropolitan Community Church of New York Homeless Youth Services (Sylvia’s Place).

Tickets are $85 in advance and $90 at the door. Included is a cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner, open bar and entertainment.
