For the first time ever, parents and students across the five boroughs can now apply to every charter school in New York City via a common application.
The new 2010-2011 Common Charter School Application, according to the city Department of Education, is a sign of tangible progress in making the city’s 99 charter schools – as well as the 25-27 scheduled to open in September – accessible to New Yorkers.
The application is available in nine languages – including Spanish, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Arabic, Korean, Russian, Urdu and Bengali – at https://schools.nyc.gov/community/planning/charters/For+Parents/Common+Charter+School+Application.htm.
