With the rising cost of health care, here’s a rare chance to get some for free.
On Saturday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there’s a free Health Fair at Trinity Reformed Church, located at 66-30 60th Place (at the corner of Palmetto Street) in Ridgewood.
There will be representatives from Jamaica and Elmhurst Hospitals; Ridgewood Communicare Clinic; AARP; Queens Health Center; Red Cross and the city and state Health Departments, who will be offering general information and answering residents’ questions. Information will be available to help in applying for Medicare, Medicaid, EPIC and Healthcare Plus.
Free healthcare services provided at the fair include vision tests; blood pressure and glucose check-ups and AIDS tests. A licensed chiropractor will be on the scene. Nutritional information and a smoking cessation program will be available.
The health fair is being supported by State Senator Joseph Addabbo. Services will also be provided in Spanish. For more information, call David in Addabbo’s office, 718-738-1111.
