JAMAICA — A laser beam pointed into the cockpit of a JetBlue flight touching down at John F. Kennedy International Airport Saturday night caused the pilot to be briefly blinded, the New York Post reported.
JetBlue Flight 607 was coming in from Portland, Me., when the light was shone into the cockpit, zapping the captain and first officer at around 8 p.m. Saturday, the paper said.
The plane landed safely and there were no reported injuries, the Post said. About 100 passengers were aboard the aircraft.
Citing Channel 7, the Post reported the pilot told air-traffic controllers after the incident that the laser was green and that he had to use a sun visor to deflect the light.
