Record breaking crowd at 8th Annual Top Women in Business Awards Dinner

More than 800 people turned out at Terrace on the Park on Thursday, April 8 – including Borough President Helen Marshall and other elected officials – to help The Queens Courier and Queens Business pay tribute to those selected as the 8th Annual Top Women in Business.

Among this year’s honorees was “Best Man,” Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown; “Woman of the Year” Brenda Blackmon, co-anchor of My 9 News; and Congressmember Nydia M. Velázquez, recipient of the Claire Shulman Community Service Award.

All of the honorees were treated to hair and makeup, courtesy of Christie & Co. Salon • Spa in The Bay Terrace shopping center.

In a raffle benefiting the Queens Museum of Art, which raised $3,000, Frank Macchio won two business-class round-trip tickets from the U.S. to the Caribbean, courtesy of American Airlines – and Sandals Resorts provided the winner a four-day stay for two adults in a deluxe category room at any Sandals Resort located in Jamaica, Antigua, St.Lucia and The Bahamas.

A door prize – a $100 gift certificate to the Queens Center Mall was awarded to Richard A. Mills, CPA, Israeloff, Trattner & Co. P.C.
