Police investigate the scene where a 36-year-old woman and her twin sister were stabbed by the husband of one, allegedly after she refused to have an abortion.
Reports claim that the husband, Fitzgerald Jolly, returned to their Jamaica home from Philadelphia to find his wife, Petrona Kates, was pregnant. Enraged, he allegedly slashed his wife’s throat and stabbed his sister-in-law, Patricia Kates, in the stomach, reportedly in front of children.
Jolly fled, reportedly dropping the weapon, a knife. His car was later found abandoned on the Whitestone Bridge. His whereabouts are unknown.
His victims are in stable condition at Jamaica Hospital.
