Members of the Buddha’s Light International Association, located in Flushing, recently took time to recognize the efforts of local teachers in honor of United States Teacher Day and Teacher Appreciation Week, both of which took place in early May.
As part of the celebration, members of the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple visited P.S. 22 on Tuesday, May 11. The theme of the day’s visit was “friendship.”
While recognizing the school’s teacher and principal, Pricilla Milito, members of the temple also took the time to read to 34 classes at P.S. 22.
