Senior, 82, gets assault with a hammer: Cops

FOREST HILLS — Police arrested a man for allegedly assaulting an 82-year-old man at approximately 10:15 p.m. at 100-47 67 Drive.

Jaime Oliviera, 49, of 92-29 Lamont Ave., was arrested for allegedly assaulting the elderly man, whom he knows, with a hammer, police said.

The victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital, where he received more than 100 stitches to his head, according to police

Oliviera has been charged with first-degree assault in connection with the crime.
