The congregation of Our Lady of Snows in Floral Park celebrated their seventh annual Flores de Mayo, a religious feast held in honor of the Virgin Mary. Our Lady of Snows, which has a large Filipino community, chose to specify Our Lady of Antipolo, who symbolizes Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. As part of the celebration, little girls clad in white Communion dresses marched through the streets, followed by boys in their finery. Kristina Mosquito, who walked underneath an arch of flowers, was selected to place the crown on Mary's head during the afternoon Mass. Afterward, participants gathered in the church basement for food, music and dancing.
