JAMAICA — A Jamaica teen was charged with assault, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a weapon after she allegedly punched a police officer, swung and hit him and another officer with a frying pan and threw grease from the pan on the two officers, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Charise Rogers, 17, of 109-15 157th St. in Jamaica, was being interviewed by the officers in her home between 9 p.m. and 9:06 p.m. June 14 when the crimes allegedly occurred, according to the criminal complaint.
Rogers allegedly struck the first officer in the face, causing swelling, bruising and substantial pain around his eye, the complaint said.
While the officer was trying to handcuff Rogers, she was flailing her arms and legs and allegedly grabbed a frying pain when she threw the grease from the pan at two officers, the complaint said.
She then allegedly swung the pan, hitting the first officer in the head and the second officer in the back shoulder, according to the complaint.
Rogers was arraigned June 16 on charges of assault, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a weapon before Queens Criminal Court Judge Lenora Gerald, who set bail at $2,500, a spokeswoman for Brown said.
