I am Bob Doda, the latest addition to the talented staff writers here at The Queens Courier. Journalists have a responsibility to the public to be honest, dedicated and fair while reporting. As long as I’m here, you can be sure I will institute all three qualities in our stories.
I was born in Rockaway and raised out in Smithtown, Long Island where I developed a love for writing; eventually freelancing for the town paper, The Times of Smithtown. After working at News 12 Interactive and Newsday in the late 2000s, I found my way to The Courier as an intern and now as a full-time writer. I earned a degree in political science from The University of Connecticut and attended graduate school at Hofstra University.
It has always been a personal goal of mine to become a reporter since the first time I saw Jimmy Olsen and Clark Kent working at The Daily Planet. I figured, “If Superman was a journalist, I’m going to be a journalist.” I can’t promise that I will be able to spin the Earth backwards but I can promise to be fair and accurate in what I report.
My heart is in the work and I hope we can work together to make Queens the most informed borough in this great city. If you have a good story idea or would like to discuss a story I have written, feel free to email me at bdoda@queenscourier.com or call 718-224-5863, Ext. 220.
I look forward to talking with you.
