Former cop provides unique chauffer service

For Aaron Jackson, a retired New York City Police Officer, the role of a chauffer needed to be redefined.

Jackson, who was a police officer for over 20 years, said his assignments varied from patrolling the Lower East Side, to presidential security details, to working at City Hall as part of the mayor’s security detail. He said he also had served as a chauffeur, bodyguard and personal assistant to various individuals of prominence throughout the world.

That’s when he came up with the idea to start Finest Chauffeurs, a law enforcement chauffer and escort service based out of his home in Queens Village. With his company, the chauffeurs are active or retired law enforcement officers from various city, state and federal law enforcement agencies, who escort clients who are executives, dignitaries and public figures from the Tri-State area, Washington, D.C., and other cities throughout the country.

“Finest Chauffeurs provides law enforcement officers, active and retired, to chauffeur clients in the clients’ personal vehicle,” said Jackson, who started the company three years ago. “At the time the company started, there was no other company providing this type of service. We filled a void for discreet high net worth individuals.”

Jackson said his clients are usually CEOs whose net worth are over a million to 10 million. They book vehicles for clients such as Limousines, Rolls Royce’s, Bentley’s, and other exotic cars like Lamborghini’s. He said his company also offers other services such as multilingual chauffeur service that provide travelers visiting NYC with chauffeurs that can speak over 20 different languages, who can interpret costs of services and goods. Right now, Jackson said he has six full-time employees and three part-time workers.

“Our clients are successful in business, very wealthy and discreet,” Jackson said, “and they would be uncomfortable telling business associates that they have a bodyguard. However, they are very comfortable telling associates they have a chauffeur who happens to be an active or retired police officer.”

Depending on the services that a client requests, prices can range from $26 an hour to $350 an hour for a minimum of three hours.

“Business is doing very well,” said Jackson, “with revenue increasing every year the business has been in existence. We hope to add additional services next year that will be just as unique and interesting as Finest Chauffeurs.”
