PSAL’s Big Three remain undefeated

The Bayside Commodores improved to 3-0, edging the Automotive High School Pistons, 21-20, at McCarren Park in Brooklyn. The Commodores did not play their best game of the season, as Automotive outgained them, 315-196 on total offensive yards. Bayside quarterback Arshdeep Singh went 7-for-8 through the air with 80 passing yards and one touchdown. Timothy Capers led the Commodores (3-0) on the ground with 80 yards and one touchdown, but showed some carelessness with the ball, fumbling twice. Quarterback Dwon Williams led Automotive (1-2) with 85 yards passing.

The Spartans from John Adams High School (3-0) also remained undefeated, doubling up the South Bronx Phoenix, 28-14. The Spartan ground game won the contest, as quarterback Daniel Perez threw for a mere 15 yards, while tossing two interceptions. Running back Kevin Baker had eight carries for 101 yards, scoring his lone touchdown on a 34 yard dash. Quarterback Joseph Garcia starred for South Bronx (1-2), throwing for 123 yards with a touchdown.

Beach Channel High School, the third and final undefeated team in the Public School Athletic League (PSAL), stayed on the winning side with a 28-0 drubbing of the South Shore Vikings. The Dolphins (3-0) were relentless, outgaining the Vikings (0-3) 358-113 in total offense, with quarterback Patrick Burrello tossing 186 yards and one touchdown.
