Former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani endorsed Queens Republican Vince Tabone in his Assembly District 26 race against Ed Braunstein. Tabone also received the endorsements of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the leading advocate for small business owners in the state, and New Yorkers for Growth – the leading proponents of fiscal restraint and pro-jobs, pro-growth policies in the state.
On Tuesday, October 19, United States Senator Chuck Schumer endorsed Democrat Ed Braunstein, in the 26th Assembly Race against Tabone.
Queens Republican City Councilmember Peter Koo endorsed Republican Anthony Como in the race for New York State Senate District 15. Como, a former Queens City Councilmember, is running against Democratic incumbent Joseph Addabbo.
Dr. Harold Paez, candidate for New York State Assembly District 23, was formally endorsed by New York City Councilmember Eric Ulrich in his campaign to unseat incumbent Democrat Audrey Pheffer.
In the race for Attorney General, Democrat Eric Schneiderman received the endorsement of the Citizens Union, an independent, nonpartisan, civic organization of members who promote good government and advance political reform in the city and state of New York. The Citizens Union praised Schneiderman’s record of fighting public corruption and reforming government. Schneiderman also received the endorsement of The New York Times in his battle against Republican Staten Island District Attorney Dan Donovan.
Meanwhile, Republican Staten Island District Attorney Dan Donovan received the endorsement of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association (PAPBA), which represents the thousands of active and retired police officers of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, in his Attorney General bid against Schneiderman. The Port Authority Police Department is the 24th largest police force in the United States, and is recognized both nationally and internationally as progressive, innovative, unique and professional.
