Cops arrest 17-year-old in church break-in try

EAST ELMHURST — Police arrested a 17-year-old suspected of trying to break into an East Elmhurst church through a rope dangling from a skylight Oct. 18, the New York Post reported.

A pastor at Iglesia Cristiana Cielos Church, at 32nd Avenue and 103rd Street, allegedly spotted Garcia Ismael as he was coming down the rope around 1:30 p.m., the Post said.

Police arrived and allegedly found a boxcutter on Ismael’s person. He was charged with burglary, possession of a criminal weapon and criminal trespass, the Post said.
