The Center for Jewish Studies at Queens College held a special event entitled “Commemorating Kristallnacht and Combating Anti-Semitism and Hatred” last month at the LeFrak Concert Hall.
Event keynote Nechama Tec – a holocaust survivor, scholar and author – was joined by other speakers in a discussion regarding how the Jewish community can most effectively act in the struggle against anti-Semitism and hatred.
“I was moved by Nechama Tec’s inspiring talk. It gives our family and Sinai Chapels great pleasure to support the continuance of Jewish Studies and to promote tolerance, racial, and religious understanding among all people,” said Michael Resnick, President of Sinai Chapels.
The event was created by Professor Mark Rosenblum and sponsored by the Resnick family and Sinai Chapels of Fresh Meadows as part of Sinai Chapel’s Community Service Initiative. It was organized by various groups including the Center for Jewish Studies and the Center for Ethnic, Racial & Religious Understanding at Queens College, the Queens Jewish Community Council, Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center and Archives at Queensborough Community College and Central Queens YMHA.
