Flushing Lunar New Year Parade: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Feb. 12. Starts at intersection of Union Street and 39th Avenue, proceeds along Union, left on Sanford Avenue, right on Main Street, ends at Main Street and 39th Avenue. Watch along Main Street, grandstands usually available at Flushing branch of Queens Library at 41-17 Main St. Expected to feature about 3,000 participants and about 20,000 spectators. Parking available for $5 at Queens Botanical Garden from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Lunar New Year Craft Class: 4 p.m., Feb. 3 at Queens Library, Long Island City branch, 37-44 21st St., Long Island City. Ages 8-12. Make rabbit lanterns and learn how to write “rabbit” in Chinese. Free. Preregistration at queenslibrary.org is required. Space is limited.
Year of the Rabbit Lunar New Year Celebration: 4 p.m., Feb. 3 at Queens Library, Ridgewood branch, 20-12 Madison St., Ridgewood. Celebrate the Year of the Rabbit with crafts stories and prizes.
Make a clay rabbit: 2 p.m., Feb. 6 at Flushing Town Hall, 137-35 Northern Blvd. $5 per person. For ages 7-10. Maximum 25 participants. – Make a clay rabbit to take home with international ceramic artist and curator Sin-ying Ho.

Lunar New Year Parade Afterparties: Two parties, both beginning at 1 p.m., Feb. 12. One is hosted by the Flushing Chinese Business Association on the 2nd floor of Queens Crossing at 136-17 39th Ave. The second is hosted by the Korean American Association of Queens at the Koreavillage Open Center at 150-24 Northern Blvd. Both events will feature food, cultural displays and performances, music and other festivities.
Lunar New Year Celebration at Flushing Library: Starts at noon Feb. 12, at Flushing branch of Queens Library at 41-17 Main St. Arts & crafts sponsored by the Council of Chinese-American Associations in Rooms A&B at noon, followed by a concert of classic Chinese songs, Broadway tunes and Italian opera arias with the New York Vocal Artists Research Center in the Auditorium at 2 p.m.
Lunar New Year Dance at Flushing Town Hall: Starts at 1 p.m. Feb. 12 at Flushing Town Hall, 137-35 Northern Blvd. A sampler of spectacular dance performances from Korea, India, Thailand, Taiwan, and China. Presented by the New York Institute of Culture and the Arts. Curated by Dr. Hsing Lih Chou.
Lunar New Year Festival at Flushing Library: Starts at 10 a.m. Feb. 19, at Flushing branch of Queens Library at 41-17 Main St. At 10 a.m.: Korean Food Preparation — Learn how to prepare Banchan, small dishes of food served along with cooked rice. With Soh Young Lee-Segredo. [Rooms C&D]. At11:30 a.m.: Chinese floral artist Anna Kao will provide instructions on the fine art of floral arranging. [Rooms A&B]. At 1:30 p.m.: Traditional Korean music, dance and colorful costumes with Soh Young Lee-Segredo. At 3 p.m.: The Orient Wind Ensemble will play traditional Chinese music.
