Drunk driver causes damage to car: Brown

ELMHURST — A Flushing man was arrested last week for allegedly getting himself into a drunk driving accident, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Min Shin, 55, of 147th Street was arraigned March 2 on drunk driving charges in the incident that took place the night before, according to the DA’s office.

An officer found Shin leaning on a 2008 BMW that was at the corner of the Grand Central Parkway and 94th Street around 10:30 p.m., the criminal complaint said. The car had serious front end damage, the complaint said.

The officer allegedly found Shin had signs of inebriation, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and an alcoholic smell on his breath, according to the criminal complaint.

Shin told the officer, “I drink a lot. This is my car. I was driving. You know what I do when I get out of jail? I go home and drink more rice wine,” the criminal complaint said.
