Road rage almost leads to beating with pipe: DA

WOODHAVEN — An Elmhurst man allegedly attempted to beat a motorist with a metal pipe Feb. 14 in Woodhaven, court documents from the Queens district attorney said.

Johnny Zheng, 32, of 84-03 53nd Ave., allegedly kicked Henry Valdes in the chest over a case of road rage at about 12:30 p.m., according to the document.

“He started screaming at me about my scooter blocking the truck,” Valdes said. “And we got into an argument about it.”

Zheng then allegedly grabbed a long metal pipe and threatened Valdes before passersby restrained Zheng until police arrived, the document said.

Zheng was charged with assault and harassment, the document said.
