JAMAICA — A Jamaica man has been charged with second-degree robbery after allegedly attacking a woman in front of 129-10 Bedell St. at about 11 a.m. March 10, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.
David Hitt, 17, of 168-20 127th Ave., allegedly hit Marie Ruff on the back of her neck, causing a contusion, then grabbed her cellphone out of her hand while she was talking into it, then fled the scene, according to Brown.
Hitt allegedly also admitted “taking a phone from a heavy-set woman’s hand while she had it pressed between her ear and her shoulder,” the criminal complaint said.
He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to return to court May 11.
