Cops search for robber in 4 Queensbridge cases

QUEENSBRIDGE — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect wanted in connection with four grand larcenies that occurred near the Queensbridge Houses.

In each incident, the suspect approached the victims from behind and took their iPhones from their hands before fleeing on foot, police said.

The suspect was described as a black man between 16 and 20 years old and standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-9, police said.

There were no injuries in any of the incidents, police said.

The first theft occurred around 6:15 p.m. May 2 at the northeast corner of 41st Avenue and 21st Street.

Two other incidents followed May 6: one around 8 a.m. at the northeast corner of 41st Avenue and 21st Street and the other around 10:10 p.m. at the northeast corner of 21st Street and 40th Avenue, police said.

The victims in the first three incidents were Asian women ranging in age from 31 to 45, police said.

The fourth incident occurred May 11 at around 4:10 p.m. at the corner of 41st Avenue and 21st Street, when a 61-year-old white man had his iPhone stolen, police said.
