Public Movie Night

A free public movie night will be held in Captain Tilly Park, located at Highland and 85th Avenues between 165th Street and Chapin Parkway, from 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday, June 17.
In addition to “Despicable Me” being shown, there will be popcorn, arts and crafts and tattoos and face painting. The first 200 children will receive ice cream.

Leap Dance Project Showcase

Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) will hold the Leap Dance Project Showcase at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, located at 31-10 Thomson Avenue in Long Island City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 17.
According to QCA, the project “is a professional dance development program designed to support individual dance artists and foster a community of dance professionals in Queens.”

‘Tracks: Animal Drawings from Noguchi’s Travels’

“Tracks: Animal Drawings from Noguchi’s Travels” will be on display at The Noguchi Museum located at 9-01 33rd Road in Long Island City, through September 18.
The exhibit features 40 ink and pencil drawings created from the 1920s to the 1940s.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
