Fourth annual ‘Senior Olympics’ at Parker Jewish

Residents of the Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation participated in a spirited “Senior Olympics” on Tuesday, June 14.
This was the fourth annual Senior Olympics at Parker, and was sponsored by Ben Dickstein, the teenage great-grandson of Jack Parker, the world-renowned developer and philanthropist for whom the Institute was named.
The audience, including Norma Parker, beloved wife of the late Jack Parker, applauded the residents, from the parade of Olympiads and the lighting of the Olympic torch, to the games, including bowling, basketball and putting green golf, to the raising of the Olympic banner crafted by residents.
Parker’s president and chief executive officer, Michael N. Rosenblut, observed that, “While age and disability might have slowed the residents’ pace, their competitive spirit and joy of life is strong and heartwarming.”
