FLUSHING — An 8-year-old girl was groped by a man who broke into her parents’ Flushing apartment early Monday morning, police said.
Police were searching Tuesday afternoon for a Hispanic man who they said broke into an apartment building near the intersection of 134th Street and 58th Avenue, police said.
The man climbed up to a second-floor balcony and entered the home through an entrance that police believe was unlocked because there was no sign of forced entry.
The young girl awoke to the man touching her inappropriately, at which point the man fled, according to police. Police said she was subsequently taken to New York Hospital Queens in Flushing for treatment, but no information was provided as to the extent of any injuries she may have suffered.
