Disorderly Mets fan fought with cops: DA

CORONA — A New York Mets fan took some swings of his own during a June 19 game at Citi Field, documents from the Queens district attorney said.

Joseph Casale, 19, of Denville, N.J., allegedly beat an NYPD officer in the Jackie Robinson rotunda section of the stadium.

The officer said he approached Casale around 2 p.m. after allegedly observing him yelling and screaming at stadium security guards.

Casale told the officer, “I’m not going to calm down,” the document said.

Casale allegedly stayed true to his word, and as he was being escorted away repeatedly punched the officer in the face, the document said.

When the officer fell to the ground, Casale continued to hit him in the face and ultimately required several other security guards to pull him away, the DA said.
