HOWARD BEACH — A Howard Beach resident was arrested after allegedly shooting another man in the leg with a paintball gun June 19, the Queens DA said.
Janelle Greenholtz, 20, of 95-19 159th Ave. in Howard Beach, told police he was simply inspecting the weapon at around 10:30 a.m. when the victim took the hit, documents from the Queens district attorney said.
“I accidentally shot him while I was looking at my friend’s paintball gun,” Greenholtz said, according to the documents. “I’m sorry. I thought this was over.”
The victim thought otherwise and told police the shot caused him pain, according to the documents.
Greenholtz is charged with assault, according to the documents.
