SOUTH JAMAICA — Earlier this month, the Queens district attorney’s office charged three South Jamaica men with assault charges stemming from a physical altercation.
According to the criminal complaint, around 11:30 p.m. June 30, 25-year-old Andre Jones and 45-year-old Desmond Jones started arguing with Monaray Jones in front of 413-07 Lakewood Ave.
One of the men allegedly took out a knife and stabbed Monaray, inflicting three stab wounds to the right side of his torso, one wound to the left side, one wound to his abdomen and lacerations to the left side of his neck, according to the complaint. Monaray was taken to a nearby hospital where he received stitches for his wounds, the complaint said.
A police officer from the 103rd Precinct said he recovered a kitchen knife with a blade longer than 4 inches, according to the complaint.
As another officer attempted to arrest Andre, then-17-year-old Davaughn Jones allegedly struck the officer with his fist in order to prevent him from making the arrest and then resisted arrest himself, according to the complaint.
Andre and Desmond were charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, and Davaughn was charged with assault, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest, the DA’s office said.
