Thanks to a donation from the LeBron James Family Foundation, Nike and HP, the South Queens Boys & Girls Club was able to fully renovate and restock the gym of its Clubhouse.
The completed project was made possible by a $27,000 donation made by the LeBron James Family Foundation. The club also received a donation of Nike basketball and athletic equipment to support its sports and fitness programs, as well as 16 state-of-the-art HP computers for use in the club’s technology center.
“I am really proud to have been a part of this project,” said James. “Now the kids at this club have some great new programs like volleyball, dance and martial arts.”
The gym at the South Queens Boys & Girls Club received a complete makeover. The floor was refinished and the scoreboard was also replaced. The donation made possible significant cosmetic and safety improvements including painting the gym, new lighting and exit doors.
“We are honored the LeBron James Family Foundation, Nike and HP have invested in the youth of Richmond Hill,” said Carol Simon, South Queens Boys & Girls Club executive director. “Our club members are thrilled to have access to this refurbished space with great new athletic gear and top-of-the-line technology.”
