Far Rock man dies after shot in the head: Cops

FAR ROCKAWAY — A man was shot in the head in front of his home last week and was pronounced dead the next day, police said.

Brian Jones, 34, of 51-11 Almeda Ave., was found with one gunshot wound to the head after police responded to a 911 call around 6 p.m. Aug. 2.

Jones was taken to Peninsula Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

The next day he was ruled brain dead and on Friday his case was ruled a homicide, police said.
