If you’re a history buff – or if you simply want to indulge your sense of nostalgia, you’re in luck – the Broad Channel Historical Society will be hosting its open house on Sunday, September 4.
From noon to 3 p.m., a portion of the Broad Channel Historical Collection, including pictures, banners, trophies, artifacts, even recent acquisitions, will be on display in the St. Virgilius school building, 16 Noel Road, Far Rockaway (use the Church Road entrance).
“It’s nice to have an open house every once in a while,” said Barbara Toborg, chair of the committee, who noted that the collection can also be viewed at the Broad Channel Library.
In addition, the 2012 Broad Channel calendar will be on sale, still only $5.
