Table 9 in a legendary location

In its previous life this location on busy Glen Cove Road was the highly respected French cuisine restaurant L’Endroit. Its interior filled with Botero paintings was a landmark. Now there is a beautifully redesigned interior that also features fabulous food in the tradition of the previous owner.
Under the current management there are well spaced tables in a warm gently lit attractive interior. There are more rooms upstairs that can be reached by a handsome staircase or an elevator. The rooms upstairs are perfect for private parties in the elegant totally renovated space.
We ordered from the menu that offers a continental cuisine of fish, steak, veal and pasta. There is a prix fixed dinner menu but we ordered from the ala carte choices. An amuse bouche of a snail in a tasty light sauce was a lovely way to begin our meal with our drinks.
Of course there is a bountiful bread basket with a delicious onion roll along with crusty bread. It would be easy to fill up on those treats but more awaits you.
We began with a selection from the appetizers. Since we were a party of four, we each tried different selections. Most outstanding were the tiny tender soft meatballs in a flavorful tomato sauce. It’s a must try category. I had tuna tartar, tasty and a large portion perfectly seasoned. The baked clams were crusty whole clams in a tasty breaded cover. We also had a mountain of mozzarella cheese with ripe red tomatoes stacked together wrapped in prosciutto ham. A dish as delicious as was the beauty of the presentation.
For our main courses we sampled the tuna cooked to perfection medium rare served on a bed of shredded vegetables. My husband had a filet of sole delicate and cooked so it was moist and tasty. My friend had a juicy steak cooked to perfection.
We couldn’t leave without a sampling of desserts and no matter what make sure to order from the choices that go from pies to cakes to sherbets to ice cream. My favorite was the apple crisp topped with rich vanilla ice cream. But of course as a chocolate lover I was impressed with their mouthwatering chocolate cake. A great ending to a meal that lived up to the legacy of the past.
Table 9 is taking its place as a premier location combining food in a beautiful environment. Try it you’ll love it!
