The educational dilemma

The conclusion drawn from a measuring device is only as good as the measuring device’s accuracy, and whether it is the right tool to use for what you are measuring. A fool or a dunce might try to measure the amount of square feet in a room by using a bathroom scale!
Likewise, one cannot assume that learning (or for that matter teaching) is succeeding by the results of one particular test without knowing the events and parameters that occurred prior to taking the test.
It takes two to tango . . . and it takes two for learning to take place. The teacher is one part of the equation . . . and the other very important part is the student as a motivated learner.
By focusing on the teachers, and using corrupted measuring devices instead of directing our attention to the learners, we too will never solve the educational problem!
Too much TV and not enough time spent reading and studying as well as not enough parental supervision, may be where the problem lies!
