Neighborhood Appliances and Electronics — a staple in the Richmond Hill area for close to a decade — has relocated across the street.
“We’re in a brand new building that’s pretty much state-of-the-art. We’re excited,” said co-owner Rick Hellerer. “We have more videos on display now, a few more walls for flat panel televisions. It’s going great. It’s a very good move. It lays everything out better and it separates the electronics and appliances into two entire showrooms.”
As of November 5, Neighborhood Appliances’ new home is 111-20 Jamaica Avenue.
Hellerer said prior to the move, he and co-owner Vincent Macchio sent out 20,000 letters to loyal customers, telling them about the move and inviting them in for a private sale with free gifts and special pricing.
Neighborhood Appliances carries everything from telephones to DVD players to 3-D televisions, according to Hellerer.
“Sales are going well, especially in this tough economy,” he said.
