The family of Gibbons Home’ owner George Gibbons, who was killed in a hit-and-run crash last month, and City Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley Sunday led a massive effort to paper western Queens with fliers featuring a photo of the suspected driver.
Hundreds of people gathered at the Maspeth Triangle to distribute several thousand fliers with Peter Rodriguez’s photo.
Police identified Rodriguez as a suspect in the Oct. 15 accident on the Long Island Expressway near 58th Road in Maspeth.
A $10,000 reward has been offered for anyone who gives information leading to the arrest and conviction of Rodriguez if he is found guilty of killing the popular bar owner.
“We must come together not only as a community but as a city to find this fugitive, to bring him to justice and to give a little bit of peace to the Gibbons family,” Crowley said.
