RAVEN ELIZABETH (nee LIBASCI) COLON died on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at the age of 31. A native of Glendale, she was the beloved wife of Luis Colon, devoted mother of Luis, Laila and Mary, loving daughter of Philip and Amy (nee Rothwell) Libasci and dear sister of Melissa and Walter Eberlein. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Sacred Heart Church, Glendale, by Fr. John Fullum, followed by interment at Cypress Hills Cemetery, under the direction of George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

ROGER DUNPHY died on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the age of 73. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen, loving father of Roger Dunphy, Kay Dunphy, Chris Dunphy and Kim McGlynn, father-in-law of Sachi, Maria and Paul, cherished grandfather of Michele, Steven, Thomas, Krystal, Rebecca, Mark, Patrick, Erika, Conor and Jack, greatgrandfather of Amber and dear brother of Patrick, Maize, John, James, Kathleen, William, Eileen, Kevin, Colleen and the late Ann, Charles and Elizabeth. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Wednesday, January 4, at Our Lady of Hope Church, Middle Village, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

MARIA P. DEROSSI died on Sunday, December 25, 2011, at the age of 87. She was the wife of the late Mario, loving mother of Filomena Cooper and Vincent DeRossi, cherished grandmother ofMelissa, Mario, Jennifer, Andrea, Marlena, Lauren and Michael, great-nonna of Luke, Alexander, Cierra, Kade, Vanessa, Vincenzo, Keira, Olivia, Scarlet, Farrah and Ethan and dear sister of Giovanni Melazzo. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Friday, December 30, 2011, at St. Stanislaus Church, Maspeth, followed by interment at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

SABINO “SAM” J. SPERANZA died on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the age of 77. He was the beloved husband of Helen, loving father of Daniel and Kimberly and Joann and Chuck, and cherished grandfather of Matthew and Sam. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends and is the last of his generation of the Speranza family. He was also a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Tuesday, January 3, at Our Lady of Hope Church, Middle Village, followed by entombment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

ROSINA COSTANZO died on Saturday, December 24, 2011, at the age of 86. She was the wife of the late Antonio and loving mother of Domenica Mazer and the late Yolanda Costanzo. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at St. Stanislaus Church, Maspeth, followed by entombment at St. John Cemetery Cloister, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

GEORGE A. CORCHIA died on Friday, December 30, 2011, at the age of 81. He was the beloved husband of Mary, loving father of Anna Wiley, Vanessa Corchia, George Corchia and Victor Corchia, fatherin law of Joe Wiley, Jose Velez and Sandra Corchia, cherished grandfather of Nicholas and Michael, dear brother of Mary Hart and beloved uncle of Ben Forest and Joyce Hart. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Wednesday, January 4, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Far Rockaway, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, L.I., under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

MARIAPIAZZA of Middle Village died on Saturday, December 31, 2011, at the age of 93. She was the beloved mother of Ronald and Bernadette Silverman and dear grandmother of Gregory and Jonathan Silverman. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Wednesday, January 4, at Our Lady of Hope Church, Middle Village, followed by entombment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Village Chapels, 67-67 Eliot Ave., Middle Village.

FRANCES M. KIELBASA of Ridgewood died on Thursday, December 29, at the age of 93. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, she was the wife of the late Joseph and devoted mother of Stanley, Joseph and John. She is also survived by three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Matthias Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, L.I., under the direction of Peter J. Geis Funeral Home, 57-34 Catalpa Ave., Ridgewood.
