Family and friends of the ATF agent who was shot and killed trying to foil a New Year’s Eve robbery was remembered today as a hero who always tried to help others, according to a letter penned by his daughter. “What is a hero? Heartbroken friends and family said a painful final goodbye this morning to Amanda Cummings, the Staten Island teen who killed herself last month after what her family said was a vicious campaign of cyberbullying by her classmates. Scores of mourners filled the St. Ann’s Church on Cromwell Avenue for her 10 a.m. funeral service. Many railed against the cruel taunts the 15-year-old endured before she jumped in front of a bus on Dec. 27. “I just want all the talking on Facebook to end, I want everything, all the cyberbullying to stop,” said mourner Joey Demato after the service. 11-year-old Bronx boy shot after bullet blasts through apartment door
An 11-year-old boy was wounded last night after a bullet tore through the front door of his Bronx apartment, police sources said. The child, whose name was not immediately released, was shot in the stomach and was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, sources said. The violence erupted at 11:36 p.m. yesterday on the second floor of 2735 Creston Avenue in Fordham, where an unidentified gunman fired three shots for reasons that were not immediately clear. Skateboarder held in nutty naked hotel rampage
A Manhattan judge has set bail at $75,000 bond or $10,000 cash for Jereme Rogers, the pro skateboarder charged in a nutty naked rampage at the Shelburne hotel last night. The tattooed Rogers, 26, of Massachusetts — who officials say was caught in the nude, smashing paintings in the Murray Hill hotel’s hallway — did not immediately post a bond and was being held at Manhattan Criminal Court today. Named rookie of the year in 2005 by Skateboarding magazine, Rogers is now charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief, carrying a possible maximum of one year jail. Read More: New York Post
‘Disturbed’ mom stabs, kills 3-year-old B’klyn girl
A 29-year-old Brooklyn mother attacked a three-year-old daughter early today, stabbing her in the jaw and head, authorities said. The stabber is believed to be the toddler’s emotionally-disturbed mother, who allegedly attacked the child at about 4 a.m. in Bedford-Stuy. The child was taken to Woodhull Hospital in cardiac arrest, where she died a short time later. “Blood was everywhere.
